Over 15 years of experience, we have meticulously invented truly unique wild bird food that will help your feathered friends survive and thrive.

Based in Shildon, County Durham, Winston Wilds is a small family business started in 2009 by David Milligan. Originally in his kitchen at home in a small County Durham Village Called Winston. He started by experimenting with different ingredients to create their unique fat ball recipe with over 20 ingredients which our wild birds know and love today.

Later joined by his son Daniel when he finished university, they continued to experiment and research other products they could use their fat ball mix for and they made Energy Logs and Suet Energy cakes topped with 5 different flavours to create a true banquet for wild birds.

They also produced seeds in a variety of mixes to create a balanced diet for our feathered friends, developing their Deluxe seed mix which is like no other and is devoured by a large variety of birds which ensure frequent visits to your garden area.

They would pack their Vauxhall Corsa on a weekend and rent a trading table at local car boot sales including in Winston village and Sedgefield.

As they built up a strong customer base they began to outgrow their kitchen and garage at home and made the decision to rent a factory unit in Shildon, County Durham in 2010.

From there they continued to work hard, designing and making their own machinery to help with the mixing, production and the packing of products, which helped them with becoming more efficient at producing orders for both public and trade customers as their website grew.

They continued to expand their business, developing new products such as Suet Pellets, I'm Just Nuts Fat balls, Mealworm Fat balls and Suet Coconut Feeder.

In 2021 they again out grew the premises they were in and moved to a 3,500sqf unit still in Shildon.

Continuously working hard, growing, developing and always coming up with new product ideas, most recently developing Fruit Fat balls and Banquet Fat balls which are being released with the new website, with many more products and variations in the early stages of development.

Today being incredibly proud of the over 10 different seed mixes, 7 different suet products, and 5 different fat balls flavours all created by them in their own premises.
